Cabaret singer and pianist Chris Barrett has been performing throughout the US and in Europe since 1973.
Enjoying his new status as a South Florida "snow-bird", this past season, he appeared in some of the area's top clubs: The Magnum Lounge, Miami; The Emerald Lounge @ The Sea View Hotel, Bal Harbour; and The Torch Club in Ft Lauderdale. Also in Florida, he has appeared in Palm Beach at The Colony and Chesterfield Hotels and 264 The Grill; The Biltmore Hotel,Coral Gables; Joseph's On The Water, Hallandale Beach and Ft. Lauderdale's Food Amongst The Flowers.
Chris Barrett's career highlights include repeat engagements at New York's Stanhope, Carlyle, Pierre, UN Plaza and Westbury Hotels. Also in New York he has appeared in cabaret at The Metropolitan Room, Don't Tell Mama, Helen's Hideaway Room, Danny's Skylight Room, Judy's Chelsea, L'Omnibus d' Maxims; The Reprise Room @ Dillon's and the famed FireBird Cafe.
US cabaret appearances include: Le Dome at The Manor, West Orange, NJ, Odette's, New Hope, PA, Pittsburgh's Civic Light Opera Cabaret, The Century Inn, Scenery Hill, PA and The Metropolitan Club, Washington, DC.
Among Chris' major US engagements: The Bel-Air Hotel, Los Angeles; The Ritz-Carlton, Washington DC; 28 summer seasons in The Hamptons including two solo concerts at The John Drew Theater, East Hampton, NY. The Chase-Park Plaza, St. Louis; The Top Of The Triangle, Pittsburgh, PA and the Mt.Airy Casino and Resort, Mt.Pocono,PA.
In Europe, he has enjoyed repeat bookings at the Hotel Cipriani, Venice, the Berkeley Hotel, London, and the Poseidon Hotel, Positano, Italy.
In other major concerts, Chris' performance was featured at The Bruno Walter Auditorium at New York's Lincoln Center. He made his symphonic debut as guest artist performing a Noel Coward program with The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He has had invitational performances at The Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC and Steinway Hall, New York City. He has performed in concert aboard the QEII and at private engagements for Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. He has also performed in New York for HRH Prince Philip and with an American cities tour for The Baron Philippe and Philipine de Rothschild.
A recipient of the BACK STAGE BISTRO AWARD for Best Singer / Instrumentalist and a finalist in New York's NIGHTLIFE AWARDS, Chris was declared "a pillar of New York nightlife" by John Hoglund of BACK STAGE. He has five recordings. His most recent CD "Champagne Sometimes.....a night out with Chris Barrett" was released December 2006. He is a member of LOCAL 802 of THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF MUSICIANS and ACTORS EQUITY.
